Dr. Roberto Pineda
Dr. Roberto Pineda directs
the Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates Laser Vision Correction Program. He
trained at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. Dr. Pineda was former Chief of
Ophthalmology at Brigham and Women's Hospital and is currently on the Cornea Service
of the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. Dr. Pineda has published papers on LVC
and lectures frequently on the subject.
Dr. Pineda received his M.D. degree from the University of Minnesota. He completed
his residency in ophthalmology and fellowship in Corneal/Refractive Surgery at the
Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary (MEEI). Dr. Pineda is co-author of 'The Little
Eye Book: A Pupil's Guide to Understanding Ophthalmology' and 'The Massachusetts Eye
and Ear Infirmary Illustrated Manual of Ophthalmology'. He has authored many articles,
book chapters and monographs in ophthalmology and has lectured internationally on
refractive surgery topics. He is also the designer of the Pineda LASIK Flap Iron
for post-operative treatment. The Academy of Harvard Medical School has appointed
him as a 2002 Scholar.
